Courir Pour La Paix (Race for Peace) 2019

By 29th July 2019Article

On Saturday 27th July 2019, Martin Pearcy (SLE Sales Director), Hetal Patel (SLE Service Manager) and Simon Taylor (SLE Production Engineer) took part in the Courir Pour La Paix (Race for Peace) organised by the owner of one of our distributors, Mr Mike Sata.

Over the last 12 years SLE have supported Mr Sata’s event. First held in 2005, the first Race for Peace rally took in Burgundy, France to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan, 1945, as well as promoting the Sata Foundation’s humanitarian mission.

Despite the extremely hot weather 320 riders took part in the annual Race for Peace. 2019 marked the 15th year of the race and was sponsored by Bernard Hinault and Francesco Moser. Over the years, the race has grown from strength to strength with hundreds of riders coming from all over the world each year, competing in one of three routes; 145km, 105km and 80km.

All profits from the event go to the promotion of peace and to charities that promote peace.

SLE would like to congratulate all those involved in this year’s race!
