At the end of April the SLE Team spent a few sunny spring days in the picturesque city of Montreux, Switzerland, for the 2018 European Paediatric and Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation Congress.
EPNV is unique congress, held once every two years, focused on the ventilation of the premature and newborn. Due to its specialism the congress welcomes keynote speakers and experts in the field of neonatal ventilation from across the globe.
The event gives attendees the opportunity to discuss and debate upcoming advances in technology and methodology which have the potential to influence best practices and save lives.
The congress began with a day of workshops discussing topics such as ‘Disease Tailored Ventilation Strategies’ and ‘Neonatal HFOV’. With over 150 delegates the workshops were a huge success.
Our highlight of the meeting was the discussions during the disease tailored ventilation strategies workshop. This included a hands-on session whereby the attendees suggested how they would set up the ventilator to best resolve various problem conditions.
This was then followed by two and a half days of lectures, running alongside an exhibition. At this years EPNV we presented our SLE6000 with its newest features including SpO2 and etCO2 monitoring and HFOV with Volume Targeted Control. We also gave attendees a pre-launch glimpse at our newest innovation, OxyGenie, coming later this year.
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who visited our stand at EPNV. We look forward to seeing you all again soon.
